A brief description of our services might be antique restoration. However, that does not
really cover it. We do brass, silver, copper and gold plating and polishing of brass, copper, pewter and sterling silver.
We also do metal repairs, rewiring and retinning of copper pots.
Here are some examples: brass plating of flea-market floor lamps and door hardware, silver plating of tea
services and candlesticks, gold plating of faucets, statues and church pieces. Polishing ranges from brass beds to sterling
vases to pewter pitchers to door knobs. We have rewired large chandeliers, converted vases into lamps and replaced frayed
cords. Our shop can solder broken candlesticks, replace the foot on the teapot, and straighten out that
fork which made its way into the garbage disposal. We can also bronze your baby shoes, replace the brush and mirror
from the antique vanity set and make a new velour easel back for your picture frame.
Chelsea Plating Company has been doing this work since 1948-longer than anyone in Philadelphia. We
